Girls Golf
Yesterday was the 1 and 2A state golf qualifier for the local high schools and Jasmine attempted to make the cut. She may not have played well enough to make it to state, but she had a day off from school to play golf in near perfect weather.

Happy Mother's Day
We went to Gig Harbor for breakfast at Kelly's Cafe and Espresso for Mother's Day and while we were waiting I broke out the camera for a photo op. The family picture didn't turn out, but I thought these two were pretty good. Bek's taking a ride on the Kiddie Pony and Jaz and I are looking cool in the reflection.
Prom Night
Last night was Prom night for the Steilacoom High School Graduates. We had Jasmine and Tyler down on the Concert in the Park stage for some quick poses. Our kids are growing up so fast.

The Doctor is in.
I've been battling Plantar Fasciitis for almost a year now. The oral steroids worked well until I ran out and the Cortizone shot was temporary as well. I started wearing the boot again and since I'm spending more time at the desk at work I thought I would make a jig to keep my foot at an extending angle. I've received plenty of comments on it and I hope to get some positive results because I really miss running.
The Ride of Shame
May is bike to work month and several people in my area have stepped up to challenge. It doesn't really affect me because I ride year round and have been doing so for a little over three years. With two years of Cyclocross and the time mentioned above commuting, not once did I get a flat tire. Well, my luck has ran out. In the last two weeks I've had three flats, but was fortunate to have discovered them at the house instead of on the road. Just before leaving work today I started pumping the rear up just like I did this morning because it was super low. However, it didn't hold air this time because the leak was at the valve stem and no one had a spare so I ended up calling for a ride. Bummer! The bike store we shop at had tubes on sale, 3 for 15 bucks. Lesson learned.

Project X and Y
So every once in a while I find a motorcycle that needs a little TLC with plans of flipping it for a small profit. I bought the top one, a 2000 Suzuki Katana 600 in late January and after tracking down the original owner I finally got a clean title. I ended up selling it last Friday and turned around and bought an 81 Suzuki 750E on Monday. This one has a clean title and I spent a few hours today working on it. I did the normal things mechanics do with an old bike: Pulled, cleaned and re-installed the carb's, new plugs, then I hooked up an IV bottle with gasoline in it and jumped it with the truck battery. After some coaxing with some carb cleaner, it fired up and ran smooth. It's been sitting in a garage for the last 18 months and the oil looked good so I didn't bother changing it, but the gas tank is pretty rusted. I ordered a product online to take of it and I'll let you know how it works after next week.

My Rides
I recently upgraded my commuter to a 2011 Redline Conquest Pro. I was riding a 2009 Conquest Sport size 58, but came across a better frame on Craigslist and after getting a new crank set and carbon fork, I was up and running in no time flat. It's a size 56, so it fits me a little better as well. I discovered Cyclocross racing two years ago and was converting my commuter on the weekends to cross mode then and putting it back together after the Sunday races. No more of that because my wife allowed me to purchase a 2012 Redline Carbon Pro and since I'm a member of Team Double Check, Center Cycle gives us a generous team discount and allows us to arrange a short payment plan. I can't wait until the season kicks off on Labor Day. If'they give out ribbons for 64th place, I'm going to put this baby on the podium.

Title of blog
My daughter and I wanted to name the blog "People are Stupid", (because they are) but it was already taken. So I decided to go with something bike related, but we plan on posting a variety of information. Should be fun for both.
